(only 2.5 miles west of IH-35!)  

About The Shop

Manchaca (pronounced Man-chak) lies just south of the Austin city limits, the live music capital of the world.  It is the birthplace of my grandmother Moreland who still lives here on property that once belonged to, and was farmed by, my great-great-grandfather Fritz Wirth. 

I located myself in Manchaca in December 1999 and started carving on the front corner of the property, near ever-increasing traffic in this growing community.  My grandmother graciously allowed me to build my workshop here in 2002.  I built it myself with the help of a few friends; Billy Applegate, Bubba Daniel, and the Pretty Miss Suzan.   Our grand opening took place in June 2003.
