Chainsaw Art & Music

In October 1998, I was playing with a band out in Ruidoso, NM and went to visit some friends who happened to be chainsaw carvers.  What  a great idea!  I knew how to carve small objects by hand, but this was bigger and better (and faster!).  They let me carve a bear which I sold before I had even finished.  So, I carved one more and sold it before it was finished, too.  My friends then told me to get my own chainsaw!  I quit the band, bought a chainsaw, and moved to eastern Tennessee the very next day.  In fact, the whole band did too!  I enjoy the carving as much as the music, and sometimes one supports the other.
